world vision sponsorship

Thank you to the students and their families for their continuing support in this very worthwhile endeavour. It may seem at times that an individual cannot make a difference to global problems, but this sponsorship means Vital and Shahina are being given the gift of equality in opportunity. It is a great thing.

Why he needs your help

Children in Vital’s community face many challenges. Most people are farmers, but erratic rainfall and lack of farming skills makes it difficult to grow enough food for their families. Recent civil war and genocide has left many widows and orphans and destroyed schools and health facilities. Unsafe drinking water makes many children prone to preventable diseases like diarrhoea. Many children miss out on education due to lack of schools and facilities.

Why she needs your help

Children in Shahina’s community face many challenges. Recently, the area has been badly affected by natural disasters. Unemployment is high and poverty widespread. Children suffer from malnutrition and preventable diseases like polio and measles, and access to medical treatment is limited. There are few schools and many children start work young to help their families survive, so they miss out on an education.
